Your first 10 UK import clearances, free
Open an account with Fourwaters Freight and the first 10 UK import customs clearances on your account are free of all clearance charges, whichever country your goods come from. HMRC import duty and import VAT, freight, haulage, storage and any Border Force examination are still payable as normal. The terms are set out in full below, followed by the account form.
What is included, and what is not.
The free clearances cover the charges a clearing agent would normally bill you on a standard import entry. Taxes, transport and anything raised by the authorities remain payable in the usual way.
What is included
- The Fourwaters customs entry fee for the import declaration on HMRC's Customs Declaration Service (CDS)
- Port and airport community system charges: Destin8, CNS Compass and CCS-UK transaction and release charges
- Shed, port and airport release and handling fees, passed on at cost
These are the charges a clearing agent would normally bill on a standard entry. On a free clearance, Fourwaters absorbs all of them.
What is not included
- HMRC import duty and import VAT, which are paid to HMRC in the usual way
- Freight, haulage, storage and demurrage
- Any examination, hold or inspection charge raised by Border Force or the port
- Licences, certificates and anything outside a standard entry
Where a shipment needs any of these, we tell you before we act and quote the extra at our normal rates.
The conditions, in plain terms.
- Standard entries only. A single consignment with no import licence or certificate, no controlled or dual-use goods, no anti-dumping or safeguard measure, and no post-clearance amendment or repayment claim. Anything else is quoted at our normal rates.
- Counted per entry. Each import declaration we submit for your account counts as one clearance against the allocation of 10.
- Six months. The 10 clearances must be used within 6 months of the account opening date. Clearances not used by then lapse.
- New customers only. A company that has already used Fourwaters Freight, or has already requested a quotation from us, is not eligible.
- One allocation per company group. Where companies are under common ownership or control, one allocation of 10 clearances is available to the group as a whole.
- Direct representation. Fourwaters Freight Ltd acts as your direct representative under the BIFA Standard Trading Conditions 2021. You remain the declarant and are responsible for the accuracy of the information you supply and for the duty and VAT due.
- Withdrawal. The offer may be withdrawn for new applicants at any time. An account that has already been opened keeps its allocation for the full 6 months.
Three steps, and your clearances start counting from the day the account opens.
