The short version: we use what you send us to answer your enquiry and run your shipments, and for nothing else.
Who we are
Fourwaters Freight Limited (company no. 16203964, registered office Fern Hill Business Centre, Todd Street, Bury, BL9 5BJ) is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@fourwatersfreight.com or on 0161 262 0189.
What we collect and why
When you use our quote form or email us, we collect the details you provide: your name, company, contact details and information about your shipment. We use them to answer your enquiry, prepare quotes and, if you become a client, to arrange freight and customs services. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and performing that contract once you are a client.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for marketing you have not asked for. This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Form submissions are sent to our own mailbox on this domain and are not shared with third parties except where a shipment requires it (for example, passing consignment details to a carrier, port or HMRC to perform the service you asked for).
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become business are deleted within 12 months. Client and shipment records are kept for as long as UK customs and tax law requires (currently at least four years for customs records, six years for tax records), then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it or delete it, and object to or restrict how we use it. Email info@fourwatersfreight.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
